A UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to 1500 BCE. Explore the zenith of the Nuragic civilization's architectural engineering.
Plan Your VisitThe Su Nuraxi complex is structured around a central tower constructed of basalt blocks without the use of mortar. The central tower originally stood over 18 meters tall, featuring three superimposed chambers utilizing corbelled tholos domes.
Surrounding the central structure is a quadrilobate bastion with four corner towers oriented to the cardinal points, connected by a massive curtain wall. The entire defensive perimeter is further enveloped by a secondary heptagonal wall system containing an intricate village layout of circular dwellings.
Located in the municipality of Barumini, the site sits on a plateau approximately 238 meters above sea level in the Marmilla region. It is situated roughly 60 kilometers north of Cagliari.
